Orithin
Archon of Transactions, Merchants, and Commerce
The River of Gold
Orithin (OR-ith-in) is the embodiment of mercantilism, transactions, and trading. Prayers - even just a nod - to the River of Gold often accompany major deals. Their symbol, a set of weight scales where the plates are made of dragonscale, is often invoked in the sigils of moneylenders. The storefronts of credible businesses are usually adorned with a chest-high brass candlestick adorned with a single candle, letting everyone know at a glance that this business is run by those who hold the market in high regard. Orithin’s clerics, known as “vendors,” often require an exchange of money for their granted spells. Sometimes this exchange is trivial, and sometimes exorbitant, but the arrangement doesn’t matter much to Orithin... only that it occurs. Orithin’s clergy are expected to repay others for the services they receive, as well, so that money often changes hands and travels freely within the realm.
Orithin is typically depicted as a flock of small birds in lighthearted prose, sometimes birds of song or paradise carrying gold coins in their beaks. Other times Orithin is described as a flock of corvids or other scavengers that gather thanklessly around in times of war. Orithin rarely manifests as a humanoid - even to their most devout followers - so as to avoid even the appearance of bias.
Vendors of Orithin have been known to trade the services of the domains of Protection, and Trickery.
