Feytouched

Also known as Fey Hybrids, Feytouched refers to what has become a distinct race resulting from what were once humanoids of all varieties. They are analogous to other Planetouched races (such as Aasimar, Genasi, and Tieflings) but their heritage is tied to the Feywild.
Centuries ago, there were humanoids afflicted by the Curse of the Evil Eye spread by wrathful members of the Spring Court. The Curse mutated their physical forms, and those that did not end up as monstrous Fomorians themselves were left in twisted amalgamations of animal shapes. Over generations of living in the Feywild and subject to its influences, the descendants of the original accursed learned how to control and choose their animalistic augmentations and became the Feytouched.
Until the Spring Equinox of 1945, the Feytouched had been trapped in the Feydark (a section of the Feywild that overlaps the Underdark of the Fey Pact-Lands of Keldan) with the Spring Court. As the Night of High Magic came to an end, the Curse was suddenly broken, and the wards that had kept all those who suffered the Curse no longer had anything to contain. The Feytouched were finally free to return to the Prime Material, the home plane of their cursed ancestors.

Feytouched In the World

The Feytouched are in the process of finding their place in a world that has never seen their race before, yet their ancestors were originally from. They have no cities or society of their own.
Many currently reside in the Fey Pact-Lands of Keldan while they get their bearings. Some are choosing to try and integrate into the local societies, while others are branching out into the rest of Armea (either individually or in small groups) searching for traces of their ancestry… or in some cases, to seek solace far from the Courts of the Fey.
Feytouched are less common in Eregoth so far, as they have only recently emerged in the Prime Material, and most of those are found in the vicinity of The Deep.

Creating a Feytouched

Feytouched use the traits of the Simic Hybrid player race, with the following differences:
Age. Since the breaking of the Curse and their arrival to the Prime Material as a new race, no Feytouched has reached whatever their natural lifespan may be. Feytouched grow rapidly due to their spiritual proximity to the Spring Court, and they reach maturity around 20 years, after which their aging slows. It is unknown even to the Feytouched what the upper limit of their age may be. Your DM may determine this in secret on an individual basis.
Alignment. Most Feytouched tend toward neutrality to start, as they have only recently been able to experience freedom from the Curse, and the sense of self-determination and choice that comes with that.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write your choice of two of the following languages: Common, Undercommon, Elvish, or Sylvan.
