Enethuain Stormwind
Archmage of the Order of Aegis Enethuain Stormwind
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Enethuain is a fit, agile Half-Elf who is as healthy as he can be. Although a cave of wild magic aged him 8 years, his overall health hasn’t declined in the slightest. Even with the strange blue skin and beard of pink feathers he was tainted with due to a trade with Grandmother Witch hadn’t inflicted any harm, albeit the harm was a little mental than anything else. He stands tall and worries not about his health declining, for his near-death experiences has made him tougher and has left him more constitutional. He’s athletic, unlike most Sorcerers, and has learned to manipulate the wind in such a way that has helped him become more acrobatic as well.
Body Features
Enethuain stands at a height of 5 feet and 6 inches, standing shorter than his cousin Esme after the same wild magic cave that aged him made her 6 feet tall. He has the build of any normal Elf, being slender, but his muscles are toned and he’s less lanky. His ears are like that of an Elf, but rounded rather than pointed to show he’s Half-Elf. Although he doesn’t outright state he’s a Half-Elf or talk about his family tree, he lets his features speak for themselves instead of telling those why he is half of an Elf and half of a Human. His hair is a darker shade of umber with a few spontaneous streaks of golden blonde throughout his longer hair. As mentioned before, Enethuain made a deal with Grandmother Witch just hours before leaving for the Time-wastes of Abin-jur that left him with a skin of sapphire blue with a full, rustling beard of little pink feathers that would last for a month. His pride might have been ruined, but the deal left him more prepared for aiding Gwilithyn, the Copper Dragon, to get to the Nexus.
Facial Features
Without the blue skin and feather beard, Enethuain’s skin is a more light to medium tone that leans more to the light than to the medium. His face is slender and sharp, his cheekbones high and his cheeks not round or plump, but more flat. His head is more heart-shaped, his cheeks hugging his slender jaw that comes to a slightly-pointed chin. He is always cleanly shaven, never leaving a trace of facial hair as to leave people asking if he’s an Elf or not. His bright, light blue eyes are somewhat normal in size, albeit not as observant as you might think and spaced a little wider from his narrow, low-bridged nose that comes to a point as softly rounded as his ears. When he smiles, his thin, bow-shaped lips curve and show off a full set of intact teeth, dimples appearing on the sides of his face that are both deep and long as they appear like deep gashes carved into his face.
Identifying Characteristics
As far as identifying characteristics go for Enethuain, his eyes are something that set him apart from most Elves and gives away the fact he’s not fully an Elf. No scars riddle his body, even after his time in the military, thanks to the brilliant healers that have never failed to fix his wounds minutes after they had been inflicted.
Physical quirks
When Enethuain walks, he walks with a confident purpose. He knows his strengths and he knows his weaknesses, yet he walks as if he has no weakness or fault about him. Some might call it arrogance, but he calls it confidence. Even when he sits, he lounges in a seat as if it was his by spreading his legs and draping his arms over the arms of said chair if it had arms. When casting his spells, he tends to be more graceful than just flicking his wand and shooting a Fire Bolt. With his dominant right hand that wields his father’s old wand, Enethuain tends to make more elegant movements as he pridefully swishes his wand while dipping swiftly or flipping gracefully
Special abilities
Although Enethuain is prideful and confident in his own abilities, he spends less time talking about them than he does showing them off in the heat of battle. Those who might inquire about his abilities would need to fight him or speak to someone who has fought him, but not many have lived to tell the tale. It is very apparent, though, that there’s an electrifying presence about him. As he stands idly, or walks, every now and then a soft jolt of lightning will arc across his body. It is apparent that whenever it rains near him, the rain doesn’t seem to touch him or anything within a short distance of himself. Along with his Storm Sorcery, Enethuain was gifted with something known as the Dragonwake Blessing to those who also experienced it in the Time-wastes of Abin-jur that gave each person a little taste of sorcerous power while also making them a little tougher than they did when they first came into Abin-jur. This taste of sorcerous power, though, is something Enethuain already knows but he welcomed the Blessing as it will give him more abilities to do good in the world.
Apparel & Accessories
Enethuain’s sense of fashion is inspired by other Sorcerers as well as the clothing of the Winter Court in the Fey Pact-lands. His robes are a set of navy blue with golden trim with beautiful, intricate embroidery in white and gold. His cloak is black, also trimmed with gold, and has the sigil of the Winter Court King knit into the back of it. This set of robes were something he also acquired from Abin-jur, pulling the unique set out of a magical chest that holds any set of clothing you could think of. Being the Archmage of an order of Sorcerers calls for a certain aesthetic, and his previous robes weren’t cutting it. Under his clothes are simple, common black clothes with some dark brown trousers. His head is topped with a circlet of brass, the metal twisted beautifully with a red gem on the front of it and around his neck are a couple, beautiful necklaces that are silver and gold separately. On his feet he wears boots that match his common clothes, being a darker brown. Both hands have rings on them, his left hand having a silver wedding ring on his ring finger inscribed with non-active binding runes. The other silver ring on his middle finger has a small shield on it that resembles a buckler or round shield with a gem in the center. His index finger has a ring crafted by himself and is of decent quality, being a band of cold steel with a stone of blue that is locked into place by prongs. His final ring is on his right hand’s index finger, a beautiful crystal that is clear with wisps of blue and black with speckles of gold in the shape of a heart held down by prongs on a band of cold steel.
Specialized Equipment
The only item Enethuain actively speaks about, if anything, that he owns and wears is his wand and his ring on his right hand. The wand is a beautiful, dark-wood wand that twists to a tip that holds a single gem at the top. Along the wand is intricate and Arcane carvings that really make the wand look high in value. The ring on his right hand is a band of cold steel with a crystal fastened to it with prongs that resides on his index finger. The crystal, mentioned before, hums with a wrath that empowers Enethuain’s magic when he casts a spell. He has given it a name, calling it the “Ring of Kul’s Wrath” since the crystal came from a larger Storm Crystal that held an Avatar of Kul in it after it was destroyed by a vessel called “The Peregrine” after a battle that resulted in the victory of a combined front of Keldani and Eregothians against the Norstiri.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Enethuain was born in the Winter Court of the Fey Pact-lands. His mother, Selaria, lived there for hundreds of years before his birth. His mother was a healer, like her mother before her, who ran a small store that dealt in herbs and salves. When she was but 103 years old, Selaria’s mother, Enari, had passed the store down to Selaria in a will before she headed into the Feywilds in search of her lost husband in case she didn’t return. Unfortunately, Enari did not return, which left Selaria alone to run the small store by herself. Luckily her father, Galadrin, had left a book to her mother on how he gathered the herbs and how he made the salves before he had done his own expedition into the Feywilds. Bored of running the family store, Selaria eventually grew on itch for adventure. She left the store to be ran by family friends, looking to the war that was going on between Eregoth and Keldan for a way to find her purpose. Since she had a passion for helping others, and was more than capable of healing people, Selaria decided to become a Field Sage to assist with wounded soldiers.
One day, she came across a particular sorcerer by the name of Aron Stormwind. The human, stunned by the beauty of Selaria, had immediately fell in love with her. Unfortunately for him, Selaria only viewed him as a patient rather than a potential lover. Aron was saddened by this, but nevertheless he moved on from it. One night, though, the camp that Selaria stayed in was attacked. Eregothian soldiers burned the tents of both healthy and wounded soldiers. As the Eregothian soldiers closed in on Selaria’s tent, Aron had stopped them with his allies Edden Voltshield and Anerian. The three of them held off a couple dozen soldiers while Selaria helped in evacuating the wounded from the camp. After this attack, Selaria had reconsidered Aron and his feelings for her. They had began seeing each other slowly after this engagement.
Aron Stormwind was a man who lived in High Keldan all his life. He never knew his parents, but all he knew was that he was born with sorcerous abilities. Over time, he refined them. He focused on conjuring the power of storms and the wind. Eventually, he joined the war effort to make a name for himself along with his friends Edden Voltshield, a Dwarf, and Anerian, a Half-Elf. Edden and Anerian were both Storm Sorcerers, like Aron, so the three of them decided to make an order that brought more Storm Sorcerers together. The three of them then began recruiting men and women in Sanctoris who were specialized in Storm Sorcerey, getting 7 other individuals to join before they decided to fight in the war. Before going to war, Aron had decided to confide in a God he often found himself looking to by the name of Kul, the God of Storms and Tragedy. He asked Kul for the strength to conjure great storms and kill his enemies with massive strikes of lightning. Kul heard him, but warned Aron that he will be corrupted by the power over time. Aron, blinded by his want for power and glory, accepted this term nonetheless to have Kul as his patron. Kul bestowed strength upon Aron, his powers more formidable than they were before with his already magical blood. He told his friends, even his closest friend Edden, that he only got this power through hard work.
After a few years of seeing each other, Selaria and Aron eventually decided to get married. They both kept fighting in the war for some time after this, but eventually had to leave after Selaria got pregnant with Aron’s child. The two of them agreed to go back to Selaria’s home, the Winter Court of the Fey Pact-lands. The two of them were able to secure her childhood home just days after they arrived there thanks to Aron’s fantastic persuasion skills. Months later, after settling down, Selaria gave birth to Enethuain Stormwind.
As Enethuain grew up in the Winter Court, he grew up in a comfortable environment. His family wasn’t poor, but they certainly weren’t rich either. His mother had taken up the old family store again, having Enethuain help her from time to time, as his father worked with his order of Storm Sorcerers in the war from time to time. Eventually, Enethuain found that he had sorcerous abilities much like his father’s, but they were just as graceful as the healing magic his mother had. Although Selaria was thrilled by this, Aron was not and began distancing himself from Enethuain.
In his childhood, Enethuain was constantly bullied by other children. He was made fun of for being a Half-Elf, being told he wasn’t a true Fey and didn’t belong in the Pact-lands. Although many of his peers were Warlocks-to-be, he himself already had some abilities of his own to defend himself when kids got violent with him. Even with the amount of bullying he went through, he came to learn that they picked on him because they were arrogant. Their arrogance is out of his control, and so he came to terms with being bullied with. “It is what it is” was something he learned to say as he grew older, but it was only used when it came to things out of his control. As for things such as people trying to outright harm him or bully others, he knew he could change that. He used his abilities to keep others like him from being picked on, making a bit of an image for himself to those who were bullying and being bullied. Although he was scolded for fighting, he didn’t care as long as he knew he did something right.
Before Enethuain had turned 18, he found out that his father had gone missing when fighting in the field. Edden had travelled to report this to him and his mother, carrying the only thing that he could find of Aron which was his wand. To honor him, he gave his wand to his first born as Aron had previously told Edden to do if he were to ever fall in the field. Enethuain, not knowing his father much, took the wand anyways. He had a small hatred for his father for not being in the Fey Pact-lands with him and his mother, but he knew that this was also out of his control. Nonetheless, he held the wand close and trained with it often. It was kept in a good state as it was, so Enethuain needed not to have it tended to nor tend to it himself. With his father missing, the order had lost a leader and thus decided to pull out from being in the war as to respect Aron. The members of the order, including Edden and Anerian, had returned to their homes as seasoned veterans.
On Enethuain’s 20th birthday, his mother had gifted him two beautiful Elven daggers that had been passed down to her from her father, Galadrin, when she herself turned 20. Along with this, he was gifted a set of magical bracers capable of protecting him. With this new gear, as well as his father’s wand, Enethuain followed in his father’s footsteps and decided to join in the fight against Eregoth. He gathered what money he had been saving up, as well as the other gear he had, and headed to join in the fight. Although he was joining the fight, he wasn’t specifically looking for glory. Instead, he was looking to prove his peers wrong. He wanted to prove to them that he was capable and had a place in the Fey Pact-lands by fighting to defend it through service. Edden had contacted Enethuain on this day, offering his protection in order to ensure the safety of Aron’s child, but Enethuain politely refused as Edden had already served his due.
After a long a storied stint of military service exploring all ends of Keldan and defending it from a number of foes, he returned to the Winter Court Fey-Pactlands, home. It is here Enethuain met a woman named Sara Brookstream. She was a Half-Elven woman who greeted Enethuain as he came home with golden, braided locks that stood still at her back when she walked. Her eyes, a sharp grey, stunned Enethuain as they looked upon him. She wore a beautiful blue dress along with a crown of flowers to match the dress. The two of them knew each other from their childhood, but it was then that she had the courage to even speak to him. The two immediately fell in love, keeping Enethuain from leaving to the company to instead get married to her. After but a month of speaking to each other, the two had gotten married. They bought a pair of matching, silver rings with runes etched in it to mimic binding runes to symbolize that they are bound together in marriage. Enethuain and Sara, soon after getting married, decided to swiftly try for a child. And, in their luck, Sara got pregnant. It wasn’t long after this that Enethuain had seen a flyer in town describing that the Sarrasani Circus was in need of guards. He originally disregarded the flyer more than a thousand times, but something drew him to the idea of being a guard in the Circus. What drew him to this idea was the fact that he’d not only be protecting people as a job, but he’d also be making money to contribute to a future for his child and wife. He knew that working for his mother and staying in the Fey Pact-lands wouldn’t get him anywhere, so he decided to go ahead and become a guard for the Circus. Sara showed reluctance to this, but agreed to this idea nonetheless.
Gender Identity
Uses masculine pronouns.
Education
Attended general education under the Winter Court Fey-Pactlands, and went through a basic training before entering into military service.
Employment
As Enethuain was looking to join the war, he was recruited into a company of mainly casters. The company had a mixture of Warlocks from nearly every Pact-land, Sorcerers of both common and uncommon origin, Wizards of all the Schools you could think of, and battle-hardened Paladins. There were Clerics as well, but these Clerics were more dedicated to providing protection and magical support than healing. Enethuain liked it in this company due to the vast amount of races and kinds of magic he had never seen before. It was here that Enethuain would learn more about his sorcerous abilities and how to use them efficiently as well as gracefully.
Not long into his service, Enethuain’s company was met with a terrible and unexpected fight. A powerful demon was summoned after being bargained with, a circle of Clerics and Wizards set in place to keep the demon at bay before the battle was to start. A couple other companies joined with the company Enethuain was in to ensure that the battle was won while also giving more skilled Wizards and Clerics over to keep the demon sealed. Unfortunately, though, the demon was able to tempt one of those in the circle. A small fracture was created in the barrier that was keeping the demon in after the Wizard dropped his concentration, allowing demon to break free and immediately kill the circle of individuals who fought to keep him locked. Immediately, many men had wavered and began running. At the sight of the demon, Enethuain was considering also faltering until he saw dozens of people in his company running towards the trouble to contain it. He knew he could fight, and with allies at his side he knew the day could be won somehow. He believed if he didn’t help, then it couldn’t get done. And so Enethuain joined in this desperate attack, launching bolts of fire from his wand and snapping his fingers to summon knives of ice to hurl at this demon. The few dozen that had began fighting this demon noticed that they wouldn’t be able to kill it, but they knew they could hold him back until someone could find a way to banish the demon back to Plane of Hell. Enethuain watched as a Fireball he launched hit the demon hard in the side of the head, sending him nearly toppling as an already cracked horn on his head snapped. The demon howled in a fit of rage, clutching his head as the horn tumbled in the air to the ground. Suddenly, after this blow, the demon was seen blinking out of existence as he was banished back to the Plane of Hell. The men and women who had stayed to fight cheered triumphantly, hollering their war-cries or praying to their gods. Whilst this happened, Enethuain happily collected the horn he blasted off of the demon. The horn was dark, worn, twisted, and crusted with blood. A couple people walked up and patted him on the back, hoisting him up and marching around as they all cheered happily. He held this trophy high for all to see, with a big grin on his face as he yelled out words of victory in Elven. Among the men who hoisted him around was an Elven Ranger named Peren whom he’d come to be good friends with over the years. Soon after the battle, Enethuain and the others who stayed to help fight the demon were given a bonus that could be gathered after ending their service in the company. It was this battle that Enethuain had realized what kind of potential he had, but this potential was only possible with allies at his side. No single person can take on a greater demon alone without the help of their friends or allies. This was something Enethuain would learn.
