Castellan Arthon Cadmus

Reigning son of House Cadmus during the waning days of the Age of Dragons, Arthon was a prominent member of the court of House Valkar. In his lifetime, he ruled over the town of Ashwatch as his personal fief. As vassals of Valkar, often known as the 14th Lord, he was party to the dark and forbidden magic that typified that court, and so was laid low with his master when their eventual destruction was brought about.
Arthon took part in the secret, vile rituals that bound his lord to undeath, and was bestowed great powers in turn for his loyal support. As a vampire spawn, he bent his supernatural will to the task of fortifying his lord's domain from both physical and arcane attack, as fit his station as castellan. When the doom of the 14th Lord arrived, Arthon's lands were burned along with his master's.
Sealed within a barrel filled with Dawnstone and surrounded by arcane traps and wards, Arthon rested in his family crypt until the Age of Strife. In the days leading up to the Battle of Red Lake, his rest was disturbed by a party of adventurers, who succeeded in laying him low.
