HAGURAWAY (ha-gura-way)

Written by Jdebro

Overview

Haguraway (“herb of blessed healing”) is a plant that is found in the Sherifil Woods near the western borders of both Pharas & Sarton, renowned for its special healing properties. Haguraway are greatly sought after by many people due to its ability to cure the deadliest poisons, grant increased healing from the most grievous of wounds, and create brews that can render people immune to most aliments. Haguraway is only found in the Sherfil Woods, a un-populated wild area that contains its own set of dangers. Despite this, many people make the trip in order to harvest Haguraway for their needs.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

As the definition of name would imply, Haguraway has imbued healing properties that are vastly superior to other herbs used by healers. Haguraway emanates a faint glow that stands out, a sign of the otherworldly energies that lie within. The properties of Haguraway affects the healing of any living being who interacts with it, bringing faster and more complete healing. There are many accounts of injured people with lost limbs or severed organs being both healed & given full regeneration of lost body parts. Hunters who managed to access it have recorded that they gained a immunity to many poisons upon consumption of the herb.
It is unknown how such a herb contains such powerful healing properties, but explorers from both the Pharas & Sarton peoples believe that it is somehow connected to the primordial past. An interesting trait about Haguraway is that it seems to interact badly against magic, as Sarton Magi have tried to use the herb in their arcane rituals. In every attempt, the herb loses its healing powers almost immediately upon any magical interaction. Sigvill augurs also have experienced the same results in their attempts. Due to this, users with magical connections often refrains from using it outside its common usage.
Conservation Status
Haguraway is quite plentiful in the land that it grows on, with large portions of the Sherfil Woods being covered by the healing herb growth. Due to the Sherfil Woods being unpopulated, Haguraway remains mostly unharvested allowing it to become widespread in the area.

Interesting that it has healing properties for the non-magically inclined.
