Summary

On the afternoon of the battle, the two sides clashed on the battlefield south of the Mystos temple. The Astorian-led coalition fought bravely against the fierce Dark Horde. The mages of both sides unleashed the most powerful spells they knew at each other, while also providing aid to their allies. The battle became brutal very quickly as the Horde held nothing back, bringing their savagery to bear on the Solis coalition. King Surforn himself was in the midst of the battle, using his enchanted armor given to him by his father to fight every monster in the Horde. He would cut down many in order to find Sherdak, and seek to end his life. Sherdak did similar with his superhuman strength & dark powers, cutting down any Astorian soldier in his way. When both leaders met each other on the battlefield, they immediately charged at each other with the absolute resolve to kill the other. Around the same time, Archmage Theras had began to put his plan into motion: bringing the newest Champions of Astoria to bear on the Dark Horde. He would use his powers to cloak them to allow them to move into the back flanks of the Horde. He knew that each one of the Champions have powers allowing them to fell entire armies, and their attacks behind the Horde would catch them off-guard. The eight Champions quickly moved into his position, awaiting the signal that the Archmage would give. As Sherdak had overcame King Surforn in battle handedly, he moved to take his life and crush the resolve of the Astorian alliance. Just as he was about to land to killing blow, Archmage Theras came down to the battle in a jolt of mystical lightning, killing many Horde soldiers in the process. With the attention of everyone on him, Theras gave a battle cry that declared his intent to see the Horde destroyed. This was the signal that the Archmage gave, and the Astorian Champions attacked. The Dark Horde was completely unprepared for them as they had believed that no Champions of Astoria were active, as the last generation had fallen centuries before. The Eight Champions went on a rampage, decimating every Horde soldier they saw within moments. Even the Dark Horde mages were being felled with relative ease. Sherdak quickly grew separate to win the battle as he knew he had to kill the Astorian Champions & the Archmage quickly. Summoning his dark mages to open the gates of the netherworld, Sherdak had planned to unleashed another blight onto the battlefield to kill the Astorian quickly. The malefic energies of the netherworld covered the atmosphere, empowering the hordes while sapping the strength of the armies by the moment. Archmage Theras, sensing what Sherdak was doing, called by the Font Of Magic to empower the coalition and cleanse the blight unleashed. The clash of the Font’s power and the dark malefic blight resulted in a massive explosion that killed the majority of the Horde’s dark mages. Stunned by this development, Sherdak roared in fury as he declared that nothing would stop him from conquering Astoria. He took command of the blight and absorbed it into himself, changing into a dark creature with immense corrupted power. Everyone looked on in horror at Sherdak had done to himself, in disbelieve as the extent the demihuman would go just to kill his enemies. Sherdak went on a rampage, cutting through Astorian forces with vicious ease. Archmage Theras went back to the Mystos Temple, and cast a barrier spell to halt Sherdak’s advance. The dark power with Sherdak was greater than anything he faced before, and he began to falter. The eight Champions, realizing what Sherdak had become, called upon the Font to aid them in their assault on Sherdak. The Font of Magic responded to the Champions’ call by release a wave of energy that empowered them all. Then the Champions released the innate mystical energy in full diagonal blast against Sherdak. Sherdark launched an counterattack to stop the blast, only to find in his horror that their blast could not be stopped despite his best efforts. Sherdak shielded himself to survive the blast, yet the shield shattered from the sheer power of the blast. Overcome by the might within the Champions, Sherdak howled in agony as his physical body was utterly destroyed. The gateway to netherworld began to close as Sherdak no longer could control it, his very wicked spirit was sucked into that place. The majority of the Hordes of Sherdak were also caught in the blast, with the affected monsters being vaporized immediately upon contact. After the blast subsided, the surviving members of the Horde saw that Sherdak was dead. They ran in full retreat back to the Dark Regions, with the remaining Astorian forces giving chase to them. While cutting down more of the Dark Horde, the Astorian forces cheered at the victory that was achieved. The Second Astorian War was over.
