The King in Black

A member of the elusive race the First Ones, the King in Black is one of the oldest individuals to still walk the surface of Arkos. During the war that broke out between his kind and the The Alphacians due to conflicting ideologies, KIB led the First Ones against the Alphacians using their superior magical capabilities. The war was ultimately lost, however, with KIB blaming the defeat on a betrayal the First Ones suffered at the hands of one of their own. While the rest of the First Ones were banished to the eastern side of the world, KIB remained behind in Eastern Arkos with a small group of his people, hiding themselves in a jungle that would later become the Harenae Desert. Wanting to ensure the safety of his people, KIB developed a magical failsafe that would teleport him and the other First Ones to a realm of safety if calamity were to ever befall Arkos. However, when calamity did arrive in the form of The Cataclysm, KIB was betrayed once again by his Alphacian friend Malificus, who stole the failsafe technology. With no protection, KIB's people were destroyed as the Fallen Ancient Bellum - The Corruptor crashed into Harenae, leaving KIB as the sole survivor. Spending millenia trapped beneath the desert, with his body being held captive by Bellum's form, KIB eventually encountered The Sanctioned, who had journeyed into the ruins of the desert to confront Bellum in the hopes of freeing an ally of theirs he held captive. KIB offered to assist the Sanctioned with troubles they were experiencing if they would free him from Bellum's hold and allow him to walk the surface of Arkos freely...
