Saint Antara

"This is my solemn vow. If this sacred ground is ever again threatened, I will return. I will deliver the Creator's mercy unto the forces of darkness and corruption...no matter where they may stem from."

Despite their frequent control over magic and the military might, the Oreion Inquisition is no stranger to incursions from foul realms. After the second war between Crescentia and Oreion, many settlements began to experience attacks from Voidborn, after small tears in The Barrier of Providence began to manifest across the country. Believing she heard the Creator himself speaking to her and tasking her with the country's deliverance, a young peasant girl north of Victorum began a crusade against the foul invaders. The woman's name was Antara, and inspiring the people of Oreion, she was able to send the void creatures back from whence they came. From that time on, Antara was hailed as a hero across the Inquisition, though she spent much of her time acting as a leader for The Church of Creation in The Holy See. According to history, Antara became complacent and misguided later in life, adopting a cold and detached demeanour as she continued to hunt those who would incur into the mortal realm and threaten Oreion's people. Armed with her enchanted longsword Certainty, Antara viewed herself as more of a weapon rather than one the Creator had chosen and loved. Fortunately, it is said Antara was able to regain her humanity by directing her focus back to helping Oreion's people and setting down her blade. Beloved by both the church and the people of Oreion, Antara was buried in the catacombs of the Holy Parish in Victorum, and was named a saint of Oreion's church of creation. Her sword Certainty is traditionally kept as a sacred artifact of the Holy See, and the place where she was born has since become a fortress village that shares the name Antara.
