Taki Maketi Character in Aridida | World Anvil

Taki Maketi

Taki Maketi was an avian man, one who has wings. Born 154 years before the present time. He was named after the mythical Taki Senta who was said to have helped with the founding of Terikati. However, Taki Maketi is well known for his own deeds and is still to this day looked up to and talked about to this day.  He was born in a time of great strife in Terikati. There was a huge rift between those who were avian and those who were not. Both sides of the argument were convinced that the ones who originally settled and founded Terkati were their own. The city was split into two and the conflict was threatening to destroy it. Enter Taki Maketi, he was a very strong magic user and suggested that while who exactly the Teri-Ka were they worked together to create the city. To respect the founders they should also work together and live peacefully. Many did not like what he had to say and they attacked him verbally and sometimes physically. Taki Maketi responded with respect, and protected himself, but also never bending to his attackers’ whims. So Taki Maketi wanted to end this conflict so he looked into the matter. He searched the many libraries in Terikati. While he was doing this he was also working with both the humans and avians to improve relations between them. They finally were able to get them to agree to peace, even if it was a little shaky. During this process, Taki Maketi also found and removed several corrupt officials on both sides.  After the peace was established Taki Maketi continued his work of trying to find the true story of Terikati’s founding. He expanded his search to the many cities all over the east part of Anicarta. Finally many years of searching and a lot of research, Taki Maketi was able to piece together mostly the story of Terikati’s founding. He presented the information he had found to Terikati’s people. The biggest thing that he found out was that the Teri-Ka were hunted and attacked for the very reason of the fact that they were both human and avian, families that worked together. Even after this Taki Maketi continued to help others and promoted respect for all. Taki Maketi was known for all his kind deeds, and respect for all, and only those that were skirting the law had to fear Taki Maketi. In this day and age, many look up to Taki Maketi and try to encourage their children to emulate him.
