On That Midnight Train to Jorva | Session 1
General Summary
Orrin Orrinson.
Just a city boy,
born in southDetroit (Laarien, Perra),
who hopped that midnight train
going an-y-where...
Which in this case, was Jorva.
Gobsmacked by the port town and hullaballo of the elven arrival, he finds himself wide-eyed in wonder. Upon the stark realization, "Oh, crap. I totally left home in such a hurry that I forgot money," he heads to the Otmar residence. It's there, posing as the bodyguard hand-selected by Captain Jannaway, that he meets his charge, the young Ravi Otmar. Ravi, a promising boy wizard and gifted fencer, isn't exactly onboard with having a babysitter, but such is his gilded life. Besides, who has time to worry about such things when there's magic, like psionics, to learn about? Julius Wallah - third child of a large, religious family devoted to VORTOR - also arrives in Jorva. He's part of the Church's envoy charged with bringing the Light of Vortor to the elves and bringing the elves to the One True Faith. At the temple he meets Draeghar Norixius, one of Vortor's Chosen, the highest order of Dragonborn paladins and protectors of the Faith.
They party.
Hard.
Meanwhile, Daddarion Otmar hosts a grand reception for the Elven envoy from Enara. The ship that brought the elven ambassadors will be leading a "sea caravan" back across the Sea of Estenon, to Enara. There, a new Elven oracle is to be coronated. (It's this event that prompted the Elves to eschew their estrangement after 1,500 years.) Ravi, ever courteous and well-mannored, takes the elven ambassador's hand when bidden, only to be pulled close.
"You're in grave danger!," she whispers.
