Shimmering Sands

The Shimmering Sands are the southern edge of Capitalla, the flood-and-tide delta of Division River. The area is a notorious hazard to navigation due to constantly shifting patterns of sand bars, micro-islets, and other oft-changing formations. There are three or four major pieces of the Sands, each separated by a semi-permanent channel through the ever-shifting silt. The current in these channels is treacherous, however, and so only shallow-drafted, wide-bodied boats dare to sail on the water upriver through the Sands.
