Shadian

Shadian is the most proper and polite way to refer to someone who has genetic features that indicate their ancestors originated on the island of Smouge.

Generations of living on barren rocks, forced into caves as the only shelter, they developed pale, pinkish-ivory skin with undertones that tend to be cooler in shades of amethyst, ruby, or sapphire. Likewise, their hair is pale, in the lightest, almost uncolored hues of yellow, pink, blue, and even true white. Eye color is also in pale shades of blue, green, violet, gold, pink, and gray. They tend to be tall, lean, and muscular, and both climbing and swimming are key parts of not just culture, but survival.

On Shade, culturally, pronoun preference is indicated by a line cut into the eyebrow. One for the feminine, two for the masculine, and three lines for the non-gendered.
