The Blighted Realm of the King-eater

History

The Blighted Realm of the King-eater is a land of evil and horror. Vile creatures haunt its forests, bogs, and ruins. It was once the kingdom of the King-eater. The King-eater ravaged the lands of Arkanmere just over one thousand years ago. His vast armies of twisted beasts overwhelmed the defenses of the Arkanmerans, pushing them nearly to the sea. With the help of Ilíos, the Arkanmerans fought tooth and nail for their survival. After 17 years of conflict, the Blighted armies were thrown back into their lands.

The King-eater

The King-eater has not been seen for over one thousand years.

Society

There are some who make their living among the twisted forests and rotting bogs of the Blight. They are not all evil folk, but they are all cursed. These men and women harvest strange plants and create potent brews and potions unavailable anywhere else in the world.

Structure

The King-eater is the lord of all within the Blight. His remaining lieutenants, The Man and the Beast, execute all his bidding. It is rare to see the lieutenants, though.

Culture

There is no culture in the Blight. There is only decay, death, and fear. All who enter are assaulted by the Blight's seemingly endless swamps and bayous. The last bastion of civilization in Blightcoven abandoned their home in 1066 YGP.

Assets

Technically the Blight does have assets, but very, very, few take advantage of them. Certain flora and fauna can only be found in the Blight. Some of these are known cures to illnesses, other garner great wealth. But no person or organization is brave enough to turn these assets into capital.

Demography and Population

The Blight is largely populated by savage, curse, and undead creatures. The very few denizens of the fetid swamp are largely dhampirs or otherwise cursed castaways from other realms.

Territories

The Blighted Realm of the King-eater occupies the entire northeast corner of Verda east of the Rakes.

Military

The Blight no longer has a functioning military. It does, however, have hordes of beasts and monsters. They may appear mindless, but they heed their master's call.

Agriculture & Industry

The Blight has no agriculture; no industry. Any scant commerce that is carried out along its borders would best be described as "hopeless."

Trade & Transport

There are no traders or businessmen to conduct trade in The Blight. Even if there were, there are no realms on the planet who would wish to do so.

Infrastructure

The Blight has virtually no infrastructure. Only the Keep of the King-eater, the ruins of Blightcoven, the Road itself, and the Barrow could be considered infrastructure of any kind. None of them are well kept.
