Argea

26th of Sowing, 1131 in the Year of the Gods' Peace

Created by clearlynotaspy; inspired by everything.

Welcome to Argea!

"Now is the age of the adventurer, Those men and women bold, Whose bravery, or foolishness, Warrants their stories told.
The pace of history has quickened, New lore is written each day, And those who aid to craft it, Find themselves here displayed.
This world is a-breathing, Its rules are not foretold, Let all who want to act in it, Come here and join the fold."

  • Concerning Worldbuilding

This is a world under active construction. I've been building it for several years. Most of the work is available here, but some have still yet to be transferred to this server from their previous homes (old wikis, documents, and collaborative notes). While the world and its lore are primarily my own, my friends have helped inspire me and shape it. In some cases, they've even helped to write the articles. Argea is a high-fantasy world inspired by the many worlds like it. My friends and I set most of our tabletop roleplaying games here, so it is disproportionately inspired by the Forgotten Realms of Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder's Golarion. Zweihänder, The Lord of the Rings, Critical Role, Harry Potter, The Witcher, Game of Thrones (and A Song of Ice & Fire), and countless other works are reflected here in various ways. Any similarities to the work of others that are not specifically noted are unintentional. If you notice something uncredited, please reach out. When I first began to create the world of Argea, I scoured the internet for art that inspired me and uploaded it here. At the time, Argea was a pet project only intended for the use of my friends and me. In many cases, I have failed to credit the original artist. I am actively working to remedy that. They deserve to be seen.

    The World

This world truly is "a-breathing." It has gone through several different iterations and will likely endure several more. I adapt it each time a new Pathfinder: Second Edition sourcebook is released so that Argea can continue to serve as a rewarding and complete world to play in. Occasionally I have to edit my own lore to fit the introduction of new classes or ancestries.   Many locales in Argea are inspired by real-world locations. The Empire of Okkrgoth is strongly inspired by Germany, where I lived as a youth. The Protectorate of Taqqadiya is clearly a fictional version of the Middle East and North Africa, which I studied while attending university. The history of my world often rhymes with the history of Earth because I'm an avid student of it. I do all this in the hope that it makes my world feel more familiar with my players (and myself). Enjoy.
