The dour commander of the Dishonoured, Brennix Vend is a true legend among the military. Not just in Vudon's armies, but in all armies. He is one of the greatest commanders alive today, possessing incredible tactical abilities from his long experience on the battlefield. He’s also an incredible hand-to-hand combatant, having mastered many dueling styles. He fights hard, he fights smart, he will not relent, and he seems to grow stronger with every battle.
Personality and Leadership Style
Brennix is a firm believer in leading from the front and he is often the first one entering the most dangerous situations, because his military ability is unparalleled and his endurance for the harshest teeth of war is legendary. Stories of outnumbered units under his command routing larger forces are common. He commands the absolute loyalty of the soldiers he oversees. Those who follow him do so as family, and dozens of his nieces and nephews fill the ranks.
One of the Overlord’s most trustworthy followers, and loyal to a fault, Brennix bears an unwavering resolve to carry out Vudon's laws, and with one exception in the ashlands, has never turned from a battle yet. He is essentially a war machine that puts everything in the perspective of what would cause the least destruction in accordance with his master’s will.
There is a strange nobility in his service and, while ultimately serving Vudon's ends, under his command the Dishonoured do what needs to be done as swiftly and with the least collateral damage as possible.
Rise to Power
The path Brennix Vend has walked to his current position is as intriguing as the man himself. Before Western Arenia was The Empire of Vudon he was one of the most successful leaders resisting The Empire's spread.
Brennix gained notoriety when he ambushed and slew the previous Virage of War. The Chorus intended to roll Brennix into the Scarlet Horde at the after his nation was conquered, but he was unable to do so. Some say that The Chorus had darker intentions for the hardy warrior, but such rumors have never been proven.
Word of Brennix Vend's prowess had come to Vudon's attention. Liking the skill and audacity on display for such a stunt, and being in the market for a new Virage of War, Vudon bestowed the title to former Virage of War's slayer, an act that would sit poorly with The Chorus.
Vudon's Conquest
Brennix led the final stages of the capture of Mercaster, a noteworthy moment of Vudon's conquest that all but secured Western Arenia. Despite being assisted by Noctis Veil, the Virage of Shadows, and Tolin the Adjudicator, the Virage of Justice, many believe that Vudon's forces might have lost without Brennix Vend in command.
