Winter Pearl Mushroom

Grown in the frozen edges of civilization the Winter Pearl is extremely rare, needing very specific circumstances to grow. Some herbalists have replicated these circumstances in more moderate environments but it takes a lot of magical climate control. The Winter Pearl has been used by native peoples for time immemorial as a way to stave off the cold. Many hunters take these dried mushrooms with them in case they get caught out in the elements.
Alchemists have found that the Winter Pearl in addition to its ability to grant a resistance to the cold, it can be added to many poisons to make delay their effects for a time. In this way someone can be poisoned at breakfast and have the poison effect them at lunch.
Because of this it has become extremely valuable and important in black markets.
