Rank 1 - Cleric: Acolyte
An Acolyte is a newly joined Cleric of the First Rank. Any of the registered Explorers interested in becoming a Cleric can register as one at any point in their career. New Acolytes will be directed to the House of Worship for training." "When a person joins a divine order, they are registered as an Acolyte.
They are able to cast no Divine Spells a day.
Qualifications
Anyone with enough faith to commit to a deity will be given the title, It's not until you are blessed with divine knowledge shall you pass unto the second-ranking of Adept.
Requirements
Anyone may choose to sign up to the Explorer's Guild as an Acolyte. To add the class to your account, or to learn the skill in addition to your class... it will have an Explorer Points cost to register, as learning skills are far more valuable than gold.
Appointment
The Terris Burg City Council makes the official appointments, based on the suggestions of the clergy who resides in the House of Worship.
Duties
Heal the sick, aid the needy, self-sacrifice, and selfless acts are all ways a lawful Acolyte should behave. If your vows lend to a darker deity, they may have other ways to venerate them, which will be noted in your records.

At Rank 1, an acolyte can turn back the undead.
Success: If the attempt at Turning Undead succeeds, you will turn 2-12 undead away. You might not Turn all the monsters encountered, but if you succeed in Turning, at least one will be affected. A Turned monster will not touch the cleric and will flee as far from him as possible.

Most Rank 1 clerics are equiped with a basic set of Leather Armor, a standard Shield as well as a Club
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
An Acolyte is not connected to divine magics yet and is undergoing tests to see if they will be accepted into their order. Should they fail their tasks, they will be striped of their rank, and be equivalent to a Rank 1 - Fighter
History
The clerical order was founded shortly after Terris Burg. The need for divine magic was something realized as soon as there was any organization with the refugees.
The need for clean food and water created a massive need for new Clerics to be inducted, and the various factions set aside their differences and pooled their knowledge to form the first multi-cultural divine church.
The experienced clerics were able to contact one of the divine beings who claims they could barely contact us.
That being has bestowed up to level 2 spells for our clerics.
Cultural Significance
The House of Worship has become a symbol of unity, diversity, and passion. Many people wish to join the cause and learn the divine magics to help provide for the city.
Often times being a food purifier is considered a high honor, and most take their job quite seriously... knowing that very lives of their friends and family are in their hands.
