Explorer Points

Every Intrepid Explorer earns Explorer Points for completing missions, and going above and beyond the call of duty. These can be put towards ranks, and exclusive training.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Explorer Points are a merit-based system.

It's designed to regulate the skills and abilities of employed explorers and to ensure their safety and training.

For example, should the Explorer's Guild receive a request to clear out a dragon's nest... a Rank 1 explorer has not shown the Guild enough skill to beat the dragon.

After all, talk is cheap, and cheap talk gets you dead.

Once an explorer has enough Explorer Points, they can go to a trainer of their profession and take a rank competency test to ensure they meet the qualifications of that rank.

Manufacturing process

There are a few guidlines to awarding Explorer Points to an Explorer:
1. An Explorer must complete their mission to a satisfactory level to be awarded points. Penalty points will be deducted
2. An Explorer is awarded bonus points for well-executed resolutions to critical situations, diplomatic solutions, alliances, and anything beneficial to the guild.
3. An Explorer may receive the Gold Piece value in Explorer Points of any treasure earned on mission, if that gold is exchanged into Guild Points.   This does not include wealth earned from outside means, such as crafting or trade skills.

Significance

Erin Nyx created the Explorer Points system as a way to keep track of her Explorers tasks and merits.
