House of Worship

Purpose / Function

The House of Worship was created as a central focal point to concentrate Divine Magic into a singular focal point such that the mingling energies of Law and Chaos would alert a nearby Diety.

Any displaced Cleric will pray and venerate within the temple, imbuing it with divine energy, and allowing a weak connection to The Quiet One.
~The Explorer's Handbook

Design

When you walk to the House of worship, It's intimidating with the high arched doors and gothic architecture.

Going up the stairs, you'll find the doors are about twenty feet high and solid brass.

They open easily with just a slight push, and you're given witness to a specitcal unlike any other.

Entries

The House of Worship can be entered from any side.

Sensory & Appearance

When entering the House of Worhsip, immediatly you feel the blast of heat and smell of various incents. The mixture between offerings, chanting, and praying; all at different frequencies and timeings, leads to an amalgam of noise that drowns over each other.

The Clerics try to maintain a schedule, but with so many different rites and duties, often they overlap, but they try to make due as best as they can.

Denizens

Humans and non-humans have taken a spot in the House of Worship.

The only rule is not to sacrafice intelligent offerings.

There is often much argument over this rule, as some feel others do not meet that requirement.

Often times the Terris Burg City Council will have to get involved, and the practicioner looses their access.

Contents & Furnishings

The House of Worship is a collection of styles from around the multiverse. Walking from one end to the other, you'll find colors, chants, and songs you would never hear from your home.

Valuables

It's not known the true value of the various totems, offerings, and trinkets strewn about. Most of these are copper, brass, or wood.

Hazards & Traps

People with a sensitive nose often finds the smell intollerable.

Special Properties

This area is a major focal point of Divine Magic.

Practicitioners can recover their spells here through prayer faster than at their lodgings.

ONLY The Displaced Clerics can refresh their spells here.

The Displaced can not regain any spells unless they are in Ard'Vanwa

Architecture

This structure is designed to focus Divine Magic into a concentrated space, and allow connection through the dimensional rift to a patron diety who is the proxy to all the clerics patrons...

This allows Rank 2 - Clerics access to one spell a day, and Rank 3 - Cleric: Priest/Priestess access to two spells a day.

History

The Hosue of worship was a controversial structure. It called for all the divine worshipers to set aside their prejudice and work together to build foci and accumulate every drop of Divine Magic they could muster.

It took several years to build up enough magic to break through and contact the nearest world.

The diety they contacted took pity on them and offered her services as a proxy to connect the clerics to the divine and allow for them to purify food and water, saving Terris Burg

It's not a well spoken truth among the people. Most don't want to think about the possiblities and are thankfull something took pity upon them, and are allowing them to survive for another day.

Tourism

Many people often visit for the serene sense it gives. The grounds are more lush, and the trees seem to be fuller near the church. After a hard day's work, many people can often be seen sitting and eating lunches and snacks under the trees.
