The War for the Lower Ulsterlands
The War for the Lower Ulsterlands was a war between Lanador and the Ulsterian Empire approximately one hundred years after Lanador gained its independence. In this, the Ulsterian Empire mainly utilized their navy, attempting to blockade the eastern and southern coasts of Lanador and batter the coastal fortresses with artillery. However, this proved to be ultimately unsuccessful after the highly successful stealth strikes, otherwise known as Operation Leviathan.
The Conflict
Prelude
The war was started after increasing trade tensions between Lanador and the Ulsterian Empire. The king of the Ulsterian Empire at the time was King Alan Horthall, and he issued an order to seize the rich arcane resources controlled by Lanador. This was spurred on by the fact that Lanador had recently made many recent advancements in arcane fields. Specifically, they had recently made large leaps in the refinement of raw mana as well as advancements in the harvesting of mana from ley lines. These specific reasons were exacerbated by the nationalistic sentiment in the Ulsterian Empire against Lanador that had persisted since Lanadyne's Revolt. As such, the Ulsterian Empire went to war with Lanador.
