Yenai Faith

An ancient faith found almost exclusively in Yena, predicated on the largely personalized worship of various primordial matriarchs, called simply Mothers. Each of the nine major settlements of Yena is dedicated to one of these Mothers. There are dozens, possibly hundreds of others, that have largely become forgotten over the years. Each household dedicates itself to the worship of a single Mother, usually that of their home town, and builds a small altar to which they direct their worship. This worship typically manifests as prayers of thanks for life, fortune, and foison, though some are known to make requests of their Mother when under duress. Yeqat Al - Vequa the Mother of Waves Despite its unstructured nature, some have posited that the so-called Old Faith is actually new, a regressive movement that developed in Yena as a response to the growing dominance of Satariai, especially as it and Zalja grew together.
