Third son and fifth child to Lord Balor Beth and Lady Oridwyn Odon.
Wed to Tethyra Paddox. Father to Baloron, who died in the First Brothers Rebellion. Father to Sabria, who would be wed to Durren Padwell. Father to Orna, who would become a speller. Father to Badwyn, who would become a wizard in service to Clan Morroth. Father to Odonraigh. Father to Norreon, who became a hosterman.
Walthor is often held up as a contrast to King Ollaugh Wulk, whom he fought against during the rebellion of his brother Lord Nodraigh Beth (called the Fool's War). In the first of their two engagements against each other, King Ollaugh was wounded in battle, and Walthor sent his own healers to attend to him in hopes of negotiating a peace. Ollaugh ultimately retreated, however, and the two would face each other again three moons later, at which point Walthor's forces were routed, and Walthor himself taken hostage by the Western King. Lord Nodraigh paid his brother's ransom, but lost the war before he could be released. Some say Walthor spent the rest of his life in chains, but it is widely believed the King murdered Walthor himself, with some going so far as to say he cooked the man's corpse and fed him to Peridor Capall, another imprisoned noble, before releasing the latter after peace had been made.
