Hostels

The temples dedicated to the Host of Hosts are called hostels, and with good reason. All hostels must hold two specific rooms: a chamber of worship, called a sound hall, and a chamber of charity, called the heart, the roof, or the charity. In fact, any hostel so small as to contain only one room must name that room for its charity and offer it to travelers or the desperate.   The faith claims that hostels were first built to protect strangers, and that worship of the Hosts grew out of this tradition. This is a common legend in Milos, where for generations it has been typical and expected to protect virtually anyone from the mists of the night, as well as to shut one's door against evil spirits. This raises obvious questions, as the hostly faith is said to have originated in Monos, brought south into the Peninsula by Cenedras the Deliverer.   Hostels of all sizes can be found all over Milos and Monos. Traditions of the past fade, and many of these temples consider the Geas of the Roof to be merely metaphorical, that a Hostel's job is to shelter the soul, not the body.
