Tenets of Faith

Sonoma teaches that life is short and should be enjoyed to the fullest, even if it means bending a few rules. He teaches that anyone too full of themselves needs to be brought down a peg or two. He also teaches that possession is nine tenths of the law. On the other hand, he holds that when entrusted with a task one should perform to the utmost of one's ability. Of course, that doesn't mean you can't have a little fun along the way.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Sanoma is the child of Sinnis and Dayyanum. Though one of the youngest of the gods he was still around to witness the creation of the mortal races. As the grandchild of both Utu and Asmodeus he served as a go between carrying messages from one to the other until their final falling out in the Godswar. During the Godswar Sanoma fought on the side of the gods who wanted the mortals to have free will.     However Sanoma is best known for his tricks and practical jokes. As an infant he is said to have tricked Io into making the moons switch positions. His most famous tricks involve stealing Asmodeus's ruby rod replacing it with a fake, and impersonating Utu at a godsmoot. While his tricks are seldom harmful, they do embarrass and deflate egos. They have also put him in the crosshairs of other gods.

Sexuality

Sanoma’s philosophy extends to his sexuality. He is known to couple with numerous beings regardless of species, gender, or number. He will shape-change to whatever suits his partner and has been known to take on female forms if it suits the occasion. His trysts are legendary and he has more children roaming about Arda than any other deity.

Intellectual Characteristics

Sanoma has a mercurial mind and it’s said he can honestly hold two contrary opinions at once. He is the consummate schemer always working on plans with contingencies for his contingencies. Sanoma can’t just do something he needs to approach things sideways always with a plan and an angle.

Morality & Philosophy

If Sanoma had a motto it would be, “Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow you might die.” Sanoma is always looking to enjoy himself to the fullest, and dives into his life with a gusto. To him life is one big party and he seeks to enjoy himself no matter the circumstances.

Taboos

Sanoma has no real taboos except for being bored. He prefers to never do something the same way twice if he can help it. Beyond that Sanoma will do just about anything except deprive another individual of their free will.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

His only real goal is to enjoy himself. Being immortal he knows he will eventually run out of new experiences, so he tries to squeeze the most enjoyment out of every experience. He is always on the lookout for something new to try, and tries to never do anything the same way twice.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

He is extremely good at trickery and anything related to trickery, including lying and sleight of hand. He is also very good at strategy and enjoys a good game of chess. His biggest failing is his impatience, he gets board easily and can be easily distracted at times.

Likes & Dislikes

Sanoma loves to see the haughty made humble and the mighty to be made weak. He likes tricking people and making them look foolish, the prouder the better. He dislikes dull people and would rather spend his time with an interesting villain than a dull hero. He hates being bored and will go to great lengths to avoid boredom.

Virtues & Personality perks

He is quick to act and usually can leap to the right conclusion with a minimum of evidence.

Vices & Personality flaws

He is easily bored and when he is bored he is easily distracted.

Social

Contacts & Relations

Sanoma is on good terms with Narum and Osa, and will frequently team up with one or both of them in pranks. He's also on good terms with Kalbu and Arammu. He also gets along well with his parents Sinnis and Dayyanum though his father disapproves of his pranks. Currently Asbu, Mu, Azag, and Kauppa have grudges with him over various pranks. Asmodeus has never forgiven Sanoma for siding against him in the Godswar but reluctantly allows him access to his throne in his role as messenger, not that Utu and Asmodeus do much communicating since the Godswar. Mudutu dislikes him though the exact reason is unknown. Kello and Laki also dislike his flippant nature and propensity for larceny.

Family Ties

Sanoma is the child of Sinnisand Dayyanum and youngest brother to Kalbu, Laki, Mu, and Osa.

Social Aptitude

He is extremely charismatic and flirtatious, with refined manners but borderline cockiness. He is amicable, and jovial, always looking on the bright side.
