Sisters of Tisiphone
The Sisters of Tisiphone are a guild of trained assassins. They serve the goddess of retribution, death and murder and believe they are only taking those whose time has come.
No one really knows how many "Sisters" there are. Or even who they are. Usually a letter is delivered to someone saying they've noticed it may be someone's time-naming the someone and occasionally their crimes/offenses. The letter then goes on to give instructions as to how to give the go ahead and what the payment will be. Sometimes if people want to arrange a hit, they'll start asking around. No one has found a sister and acquired their services, at least no one has done so and lived to tell the tale.
The Sisters are believed to come from all over and work in all areas of the nation in a wide variety of roles. People will occasionally shush each other with the reprimand "Hush, the Sisters may be watching". Some think they are cruel or monstrous but others regard them with a distant respect.
Structure
Little is known about the structure of the organisation, but there are believed to be the Eyes, the Ears, the Legs and the Hands. The Ears primarily observe and report back to a possible Head or Heads. They compose the notes and the Legs deliver them through a series of people/methods/means. The Eyes confirm the response and then the Heads send a Hand to carry out the task.
Culture
They are clean, conscientious and undertake killings quickly.
Tenets of Faith
Death come for us all. If it's your time, the sisters will usher you on your way. They see themselves as working with Tisiphone to guide souls to the afterlife at the appropriate time.
Ethics
Sometimes they are hired for a mercy killing when someone is deathly ill. Other times it may be due to revenge or hatred. Either way, they will never go ahead unless it is confirmed by the hirer.
Political Influence & Intrigue
The guild has been involved in many political scandals and intrigues. Secretly of course. They have been responsible for taking out leaders, opposition, competition, and people from all walks of life. This tends to mean people tread carefully as you never know who is watching and who may be offended.
