Camel Cart

Most people traveling through the Ayrith Desert will travel by camel, some with shades, others just well wrapped. But those on a longer journey or with goods to trade/sell or with young/old traveling with them often use a camel cart.
They come in a variety of styles. From 2 wheeled carts for faster merchant journeys, to dual camel rigs with 4 wheels, seating and a canopy to protect from the sun. Some had sides made of cloth that drop down to protect from wind and sand.
Experiments are happening as well to make ones in which people could dwell. Complete with storage space, pull down shelves and tables and higher ledges for beds.
Made primarily of wood with wooden wheels and woven fabric shades. Desert Bloodwood Trees birch, or elm are the preferred types of wood but ironwood, snakewood, and other wood types have also been trialed. 
The carts enable travelers to carry much more in the way of supplies for their journey. And mean the camels are less tired and therefore able to travel much further than if carrying the loads themselves.

Propulsion

Pulled by 1-2 Camels dependent on type. Some merchant two wheeled versions could at a pinch be pulled by a donkey or an ox. But camels are preferred for their ability to go long distances without water. 
Recently Axe Beaks have been trialed in place of camels - to great success to the surprise of everyone.

Additional & auxiliary systems

Some carts have woven shades over top that can be removed if not needed. They also have bench seats that can be added/removed as needed. Side walls made of woven fabric can be attached and lowered if needed. The carts are customised for each journey.

Hangars & docked vessels

All of the bigger desert settlements including Kairaviel, Bymere, Ithlorwis, Ellon, Flathold Watch Town, Wildegarde Outpost, and Purecross Waystation have cart houses where travelers can secure a cart and camel for a fee.
