The Incubus is a class B tier of vampire, also known as an evolved vampire. They take the shapes of young, highly attractive men that carry themselves with charm and chivalry, but also trickery, deceit and usually vast knowledge of illusion and shadow magics. They are not all that strong and skilled in bladework though and would likely fall to the common soldier's swordsmanship, as they are not immune to steel.
It should be noted however, that only through burning or putting a stake through the heart of the incubus will it truely die. Though unlike higher tiers of vampire, weapons can at least destroy their bodies and cut through limbs which renders their bodies useless for weeks until reformed. Hence, an ordinary piece of carved wood could suffice to finish the job.
As for the Incubus' purpose and role, it's known that incubi wears marks on their bodies. Either like bites or small cuts on their face, palms, or hidden on their necks. This mark is also known as a trace of the bloodkiss which embraced and turned the incubi into a vampire. Thus, one can deduce that they serve their covens as low tier agents and manipulators that exist either as servants, spies or operatives that mainly gather information or whisk away young women especially from the woods at night-time.
Usually, this kidnapping happens fully consensual as the victims in most cases have no idea that they'll be embraced into vampires as well. Though on the rare occasion, some will willingly follow an incubus knowing his nature, just to achieve power. In unique cases, it has even happened that the bloodbond within an incubus has been breached by powerful occultist witches, who then force these vampires into their own servitude.
All in all, the greatest danger these creatures possess is not of martial or even magical might, though that of the political consequences they might have. Especially as charming enough to sway different opinions and sow chaos, but also their means which they often kidnap and hold young rebellious noble women hostage.
