First Law of the Holy Imperator’s senate. Divine seat of Ophalmitrus chosen. Impenetrable bastion city. Forge of a thousand mortars and cannons. The Heaven of the sanctified magi of the Golden Empire.   The Grand Eye of Barrkad stands as the largest tower structure in the world and the heart of the Golden Empire’s third largest city.   Linked to six towers woven in a geometric web, the eye carries its name from the magical core within the heart of the tower itself which generates a massive magi-electrical field that keeps any would-be invaders from assaulting the city from the skies.   Further guarded by a large wall around the entire isle, manned with ten thousand cannons. Few are those who would challenge the might of Barrkad and all who have tested the patience of its peace and humility have known the humbling might of the Empire’s greatest arsenal of wisdom and knowledge.
 
 

Order of the Allseer

  Within the hallowed halls of the Grand Eye tower, roaming the highest floors but the seat of the Grand Magus himself, the Order of the Allseer consists of a contingent of some of the most skilled mages the world over.   Though they mainly hail from the children of mankind; Elves, dwarves, goblins, dragonkin and many more intelligent species have individuals serving as both members and ambassadors to the order as a unified force focused on studying and combating instabilities within the veil of reality and to eradicate the forces of the abyss wherever they might crop up in the world.   While the monks and battle-magi of Barrkad are famous and feared for wielding a combination of elemental and holy magic known as Mysticism, those belonging to the Order carry knowledge among most magical arts including the dark and illicit practices. Sometimes these dark magi aligned with the Allseers even tutor the older students of the schools about the dangers they possess. Though only ever the most competent, loyal and steadfast of arch-magus graduates are ever taught about the deepest horrors of the world and invited to join the Order itself.  

A seat of Neutrality

  As their mission is holy, decreed by both the Divine Imperator and the Grand Magus, the Order of the Allseer are granted a unique power within the Golden Empire to bypass the laws of the Senate and answer only to the gods.   Due to this freedom, they have connections and allies within other grand magical institutions within other Empires that have remained cooperative even during wartime between nations. They also have direct friendly ties to groups considered cults or heretics by the Golden Inquisition, such as the Blackbloods and a few covens within Diestria and the Dyskhari Imperium that can arguably be considered forces of good.

Architecture and Rooms

 

The Alloyhalls

  Deep within the bellows of the tower and at its stabilizing foot, a machine forge of grandeur can be found hosting various factories that spew out the artillery and bombards that protect Barrkad and the Golden Empire.   To that end, one may find a plethora of both masters and students within alchemical and magical metallurgy that use a combination of technology and magic to forge the weapons.  

The Sapphire Roosts

  Shaped like odd bucket formations that stretch out from the sides of the tower. These avian roosts serve as home to the local gryphon-riders and their indigo feathered royal-gryphon companions.   From here, they keep guard around the towers. Ensuring that nobody accidentally falls off the many balconies and railings.  

Tutelage Rise

  A massive labyrinth of winding staircases and lifts which stretch from the upper foot of the tower to its metaphorical shoulders. Between these massive hallways, there are hundreds of rooms dedicated to various classes and libraries carrying nearly all the legal knowledge known to mankind and many other races beyond. Disclaimer: It is advised to take help from one of the local familiars within the tower to guide you to the correct classroom, as the Free Barony of Barrkad will not make itself faulty for getting lost within the complex architecture of the megastructure.  

Circle of Commerce

  A massive flat locale within the center of Tutelage Rise. This place serves as a market square the size of a whole city district. Within the core center of the circle, an amalgamation between the goblin embassy and trader’s guild can be found.   Due to the entire tower being a smaller city in of itself, supplies are often skylifted up there from the ground and it’s perfect central location of the entire tower ensures there are all kinds of stores, restaurants and even bars, auctions and pawnshops found nestled among emporiums of magical trinkets, reagents and student stores. The Grand Eye Dormitories The Dormitories of the Grand Eye can be found all around the tower itself. Usually within smaller outcropping clusters that serve as student apartments for up to a hundred students a cluster. These rooms take shape outside the towers as glass baubles growing like a shield. Spanning twenty rooms horizontally and four rooms vertical.   Beyond the personal rooms having a bedroom and kitchen as well as magically functioning bathrooms driven by an aquatic elemental helix-core, each cluster has a public mess hall, four lounges and accompanying balconies to the lounges.  

The Ring of Diplomacy

  Beneath the uppermost sphere of the tower, four great embassies can be found on a large outer ring spanning the first circle of the tower’s crown.   The Ring of Diplomacy publicly displays their relations with zhgaard, Peregon, the Sylvhar Domain and the Dyskhar Imperium here and their elites are free to come and go as pleased to discuss magic and other political and diplomatic topics.   Due to the firm neutral and near pacifistic stance of Barrkad, it is also a world renowned court for signing international deals and writing up peace papers.  

Grand Library of the Allseers

  The second of three rings within the grand crown of the Eye. Here, a massive cathedral-like library stands as a castle fortification and home to the Allseers. Serving as not only their base, but as a harborage of the most destructive and forbidden knowledge.   Among certain outside groups and nobility, the Library also contains unique family or company vaults which serve as a secure container and as a memento for those who have sacrificed their treasures for the greater good. Those with their names etched in the steel are granted high nobility privileges within the Free Barony and always promised a home within its walls for the individuals themselves and their families.  

The Eye of Ophalmitrus

  The upper most reach of the entire tower, seen within the glass roofed dome temple as its top.   Within this holy domain, only the Grand Magus sits alone and is said to commune with the god Ophalmitrus. Sharing in his wisdom, as he governs the isle of Barrkad and their vassals beyond.
