Personal history

The story of Wulf starts seven years ago, back when Red Clergy fanatics went on a crusade against the technological industries of Normania. As castles and villages burned en masse, both from raids or single agents starting wildfires, something had to be done against them. The answer was the Normanian Fire Battalion. Soldiers and firefighters specially trained to enter burning buildings, rescuing civilians while killing any possible hostiles, before quenching the flames before they could spread.   Wulf started as an ordinary soldier, tasked with a mission to rescue captives held at the Ashford Castle, in the northern parts of Normania. His objective was to locate said hostages within the upper levels of a burning castle.   Among his crew, a Captain and three fellow troopers, they'd ascend a windling staircase filled with flaming books and old literature, while fighting an upphill battle against plated up maniacs and foes attempting to stop them.   Already halfways through the path, the captain suffered a spear to the throat, taking out the chain of command, prompting two of the men to run away in fear. Wulf though, was set to continue as he pulled the pistol from the corpse of his dead officer and shot his assailant in the eye. From there, he'd fight viciously with dual axes as he slowly ascended the stairs to reach the upper levels.   His problems wouldn't stop there though, as it escalated quite bad. The fires were all over the place, a Clergyman in control of a vast elemental was slowly torturing the captives to death, while the staircase were minutes away from turning into a blazing inferno. The only way out was through the windows and climbing down the walls, into the barracks. Though to acheive such, Wulf first had to charge the elemental. As he did, on the cost of being set ablaze right before his axes found the core of the creature, destroying it in one single wicked hack, before the still burning man rushed over to slash down the torturer, by cleaving him from shoulder all the way down the ribcage, killing him on the spot.   Wulf's story could easily have ended there, due to the burning. He was lucky that the one trooper who had not left him happened to be a veteran capable of casting aquatic spells. Hence quenching him and healing the most serious injuries before his face would've melted. Instead rendering him bald with patches of disfigured skin. All in all, he got away lucky being discoloured in places rather than require extensive surgery and horrid scars all over.   The two from there smashed the windows, saving those civilians they could before making their way onto the roof. From there, relief forces noticed the escape and helped clear out the barracks built into the wall, aiding them in an else eventfull escape.   Due to his bravery and sacrifice, Wulf was promoted to Captain within the Fire Battalion, before his legend eventually had him take over as a Field Commander.

Education

Wulf in his youth recieved extensive training at both military school and later a course within Firefighting, at the Shocktroopers University. There he trained both in close quarters combat within urban battlegrounds, accompanied by siege tactics needed to enter buildings caught in an inferno.

Employment

Wulf saw his first deployment as a Captain within the southern part of the Normanian region. Due to their far away location from most hostile factions, they didn't see much action though and the worst problem he had to deal with during the first year, was an accidental fire. A blaze had started from an engine malfunction within the nearby Morin Industries, which caused his part of the battalion to enter with the goal of quenching the fire and ensuring none were engulfed in it.   The mission proved simple enough, without any casualties. Though, Quentin roc Morin, the boss of the factory got a personal scolding from Wulf due to how neglect in old machinery had sparked the threat. He soon warmed up to the man though, as Quentin appologised by developing a new, more mobile but also flame resistant armour for the Fire Battalion forces. He also manufactured two hundered sawn-off shotguns specially modified to have a low amount of recoil, to effectively be used in close quarters combat.   This gift warmed Wulf up to the young entrepreneur and they swiftly became good friends, though also rivals at the local chess club.   His true deployment didn't start untill a few years after the fire incident though, when a full scale invasion from the Red Clergy threatned the northern reaches of Floeur with a hellfire brought by a whirling hurricane that they had set alight. Accompanying the Witchenguard was also the Iron Wings, lead by roc Morin and naturally, the Emberwarg himself in charge of both his own and Quentin's forces. This was also where he achieved the rank of Field Commander.

Accomplishments & Achievements

The battle known as the Flour Hellfire days, was the biggest achievement in Wulf's life by a longshot. The entire war almost ended in a complete failure from the start, with several villages being burned down and the entire northern grassland got painted brown due to devestation. The Witchhunters, being assailed on all manners of fronts by different cults were strewn too short in numbers, and the local forces were pushed out by the flames while the fleet was decimated.   By using the flying cathedral of the Iron Wings, Wulf and his team threw down firebombs back at the Clergymen, creating a controlled wildfire on his own that burned a line between the warzone and rest of the lands. As the fires then raged, soldiers and knights equpped with masks descended through the smoke in guerrila tactics to whittle away at their armies, taking out those forces attemping to spread the fire and halting them untill the inferno was over.   With the fire gone and nothing more to set ablaze on their controlled territory, Wulf would then lead his squad of the Fire Battalion straight into the no mans land, hunting like wolves in the dead of night for any remaining foes holed up in still standing buildings or fortifications. By utilizing gas and smoke, they'd ensure holed up foes couldn't breathe or see, as they'd go in and kill all hostiles, while evacuating surviving civilians that had been captured. Thanks to his acts of both heroism and ingenuinity, he earned the fear of the Red Clergy as the Emberwarg. The one who hunts through the blaze, while also promoted to Field Commander due to his critical role in ensuring the war didn't end in a decesive loss, rather a heroic one.
