Elves

Elves primarily live in the eastern edges of Kaeoma, as well as the Forested Isle.

History

Like Dwarves, elves were originally neo-humans that migrated from the West eons ago. As the closest inhabitants to the center of magic located on the Forested Isle, they are the most magic-proficient race. Like the trees they resided beside, they grew tall and graceful. The High Elves that live on the Isle are considered paragon elves.

Traits

Nature Attuned

Elves prefer to live among nature, where magic is strongest. This is even reflected in the few formal cities they have constructed, sprawling with wide roads and many public parks. It has also caused some to see elves as savage, wild or mysterious.

Tender Hearts

Elves are very emotionally empathetic, and while this makes them easy to negotiate with, it can sometimes make them insufferably indirect. Elves censor themselves for the sake of not hurting the feelings of others, and avoiding conflict is second nature to them. Inversely, elves take criticism very poorly, and even the slightest insult may have them sobbing uncontrollably.

Daydreamers

Despite being very empathetic, it is not uncommon for an elf to daydream even in mid-conversation. Those who stroll through the parks of elven cities will often find the locals meditating or even resting in the middle of the day. Foreigners may consider this unproductive, but their broad lifespan allows for delays.

Unique Traits

High Elves

You would think that it would be impossible to be prideful and empathetic at the same time, but the high elves manage to pull it off. Their detachment from the continent and the rest of the world does not help.

Wood Elves

Wood elves are endlessly energetic, and due to their shorter stature of around 4-5', they are often mistaken as a society of children. Even their mischievous nature contributes to this image. However, wood elves hide a cunning that will take travellers unaware if they were to ever cross the line.
