Opprimere

Opprimere was a country in the western land of the Canvara continent located in the world of Core. It was infamous for its dictatorship and the country's attempts to invade other countries to expand its territory. During their active time, they invaded and took over cities such as Gate's Scutum and Scientia and Hakumei's Kura and Shira.
The country was later dissolved after the final raid headed by the Rune Council and Armand Colby defeated Rigid and his trump card against Gate and Hakumei. The land itself was then later claimed by the new country of Kuroi during the modern era.

Structure

The country was led by an Iron Leader, a hereditary leadership role given to the Glare family who was responsible for approving laws and leading the people to the country's future.
Alongside the Iron Leader was his Council of War, a group of generals and leaders from other cities who were responsible for maintaining the military, managing taxes, and their treasury, and upholding the laws approved by their leader.

Culture

As a militaristic country, Opprimere favored strength and absolute order beyond anything else. Because of this, some cities in Opprimere punished people who refused to accept the drafting while many forced and dragged the potential recruits out of their homes against their will, causing many to fear to resist against the Iron Leader and the Council. Some are even willing to betray their loved ones just to avoid their wrath or any potential recruiting.

History

Founded in 1879, Opprimere was ruled by the Glare family after the patriarch was exiled by the king of Gate for his attempted coup against the monarchy. After about 30 years in the Founding Era, the country attempted to make some peace offerings to Hakumei and Gate. While it fell through a few times, Hakumei accepted it at first and was about to forgive him for his actions for attempted invasion as a general. But after Riyoku and Armand expressed their doubts and after connecting several incidents regarding bandits and reports of illegal trafficking of weapons, Hakumei rejected the offering along with Gate.
After this, the country started to invade several cities and took over Scutum, Scientia, Kura, and Shira for about 2 years. It wasn't until the efforts of Riyoku's party freed them that both monarchies finally acted against the country's transgressions. After several successful defenses, the Iron Leader of that time, Rigid organized another peace conference in an attempt to stop the war once and for all. However, it was another trap made by one of the former Rune Councilman, Dallas, made in an attempted coup, yet it failed thanks to Armand's suspicions and it forced Opprimere to stop their invasion attempts for about 8 years.

Disbandment

In the heat of the final weeks of the war, Opprimere's research team created the mysterious Sigil of Oculus, which was supposed to be their trump card against Gate and Hakumei's united forces. Unknown to them, Armand Colby, hero of the Bloodless Skirmish, investigated the actions behind the country's actions against both Gate and Hakumei to stop the war his way. Once he discovered evidence of Rigid's motives and the abuse his council made to grow their treasury and army as well as his plans to ambush both central cities of Gate and Hakumei starting with Arcanum City as revenge.
With this knowledge and Queen Himura's support, Armand led a special corps group to ambush the army about to unleash the powers of the Sigil against the city. Because of this surprise ambush, most of the armies meant for the invasion of Hakumei and Potentia were scattered and confused and the generals were arrested with evidence of their abuse and corruption against them.
And with Rigid's defeat and arrest as a war prisoner from Armand's hands, the lands were free and Opprimere was no more.
