The Adimari Family
The Adimari Family is a rich, storied family of mages tracing all the way back to before the Global Ward and rumored to have existed be before the Magus Age, which is nigh impossible to prove. The original founders are Aurelius and Andromeda who took the name when they wed in the Magus Age, however being immortals even in the advent of the Magus Age they believe the chances of them being them being the original bearers of the Adimari name are slim.
When most refer to the Adimari family, they are mostly referring to Aurelius, Andromeda, Adrian, and Alessa but the family is bigger than those four. Given that the family name began with the marriage of the patriarch and matriarch, the view of the Adimari family is that blood is not the only thing that will define someone as being a member of the Adimari family. It is more common to find someone adopted to the Adimari family than it is to find someone born to the Adimari family.
During the end of the Magus Age, the family was only considered to be minor nobility, at best, until they were able to save the last Magus hamlet by shielding it from the powerful surges and turning it from a hamlet to a large city with the hamlet earning the name Meridius. While Meridius was to be run by a council of mages, however the council kept referring to the family in the matters that they gave up and acquiesced to ruling.
