Free Legion of the South

Formed from local volunteers in the South of the Vell Peninsula during the First Siege of Vell under Rolen an Elf of one of the leading families of City of Vell.  This unit was able to rally in the South winning victories over the forces of Chaos in that area.  This lead to the breaking of the siege.
The Legion was at the head of the Army that Vell raied to reclaim the North.  Marching into the Mountains with this Army Rolen and his men were largely responsible for the victory Dresen.  Rolen and his chief officers were invited to return to Vell for a triumph.  They were instead imprisoned, and narrowly escaped beheading.  
Escaping the city they returned to their troops.  There with the full corruption of the leaders of Vell before them Rolen, his officers, and his men chose to join with the Forces of Chaos.  This lead to the Second Siege of Vell, which was successful and lead to the end of the war.
After this the Legion disbanded, with it's surviving members being honored men the rest of their lives.
