Caedmon, The Harpist

Caedmon, was a herdsman for the MONASTERY OF RHULE located in the Western parts of Valley of Edgemere. The Monastery was devoted to DURVIN, the local god of agriculture and herdsman-ship. With no formal training he was not accepted into the order, but was an acolyte living on its fringes and working for it as a cowherd. One day in the fields he found a cave, and in that cave was a marvelous harp (probably lost by a Fey of great power). This was Caedmon's Harp. Caedmon took up the harp, and found that he could now produce the most wonderful music, both on the harp and with his voice.   As time went on he found that with the smallest amount of knowledge of any person place or thing he could produce an epic poem about it, that would prove factual if one researched it. Over time he found that when given a small part of a spell he could sing it up, and have it take effect.   These powers let him gain entry to the order, and eventually he became its leader. He was a great and good prelate who was much loved by all those in his province.   On his death the harp was put in a small shrine in the monastery, but it has long disappeared, and never been seen or heard of.
