At the centre of Arcadius city stands a tall skyscraper, rising above the rest of the city. Totalling over 300 metres in height, this building is used by most as the main transportation hub. Because of this some people also refer to it as “the Hub”. Like the other buildings in Arcadius it is constructed of wood, with bark covering a lot of the exterior. It also has many large windows, allowing for beautiful views of the surrounding city. Halfway up the building are four platforms sticking out from the sides of the building, supported by tree-like columns.
The Station
At the lowest floor of the tower resides the central station for the LEV-rail system. These levitating trains are used to quickly move between different parts of the city. Here people can quickly change between lines. A few floors above the LEV-rail station is the hall of circles. This circling hallway has space for 16 teleportation circles, but only four of these have been finished. Teleportation is more of a luxury, and is mostly used by the powerful wizards of the mage school.
The Docks
The platforms sticking out at the middle of the tower are used as skyship docks. Only two of these four have been completed. With skyships still being a rarity in the world the docks don’t see much use yet, but like with the circles, it’s designed to have room for expansion.
The Offices
Most of the floors of the tower are filled with office spaces. These are mostly used by the for the managing and planning of infrastructure in the city. A lot of civil services are also located here. Near the top of the tower sits the city council, where most of the important decisions regarding the city are made. At the top of the tower is an observation deck, allowing citizens and tourists to look out over the entire city and the lands surrounding it.
