A WAIV/COMM, or "World Arcane Interweb Vibration/ Communications Over Microphone Macrowaves", is an intelligent device which stores multiple features! As a communication device, the base models allow for fundamental call/ text options, while more advanced models include MODDs, or Mobile Operator Data Downloads, which change the user's experience with the WAIV/COMM. State of the art Ultra Deluxe models include advanced AI properties.

WAIV/COMM have general amounts of lifespan; usually, a WAIV can maintain charge for 3 variable hours before it needs to recharge over a 1 hour period via setting it into "Rest" mode.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The simplest WAIV/COMMs were once simply known as COMMs, and only allows for sending and receiving voice calls. It has no storage capacity and worse reception than other models.

Advanced WAIV/COMMs
As Basic model, except:
Better resolution, more memory capacity.
Able to create light in a 5ft. Cone.
Two Enchantment Slots (or MODDs)
Casters can use it as a Focus for Spells.
Resistant to basic forms of Dispel/ Anti-Magic.
Increased charge time: 4 hours/ 1 hour charge.

WAIV/COMMs have incredible range, able to send and receive messages from any open place in the world. Even inside structures, the WAIV can operate perfectly. Unless within a structure of dense material or deep underground, the WAIV/COMMs are reliable. They work perfectly under water, but the resolutions tend to be much more distorted due to the filter of vibrations through water. WAIV/COMMS are waterproof.

Enhancement MODDs or base Enchantments can increase a WAIV's effectiveness. With a user-friendy UI, the advanced models can perform various tasks, such as document-keeping or record-finding, tracking one's own vitals, or advanced alarms and locking systems.

The advanced model can also be used as a Tuner; a magical focus for spells and magic effects.

The Ultra Deluxe models are the top of the line, with the most increased performance packages. In addition to the base and advanced models, the Ultra Deluxe includes the following features:

* AI is intuitive, user-defined, capable of controlling the WAIV/COMM

The advanced AI is able to imprint upon the user and create specific algorithms and programs for them. Some models are able to project the AI as a holo-graphic image.

History

WAIV/COMMs is the earliest form of WAIV technology. Before it was adapted with enhanced Source Code methods, the quality of calls and videos was functional but not practical. Poor resolution ruined the early experiences.

After many enhancements and changes to the Core, the technology has advanced to create near-perfect replications of photos and videos. As the device attunes to its user, it becomes much more accustomed to the user's personal algorithm, and is able to intuitively predict speech and texting patterns.
