Deck of Healing Item in Arc Sagas | World Anvil

Deck of Healing

"If you play your cards right, we might just get through this."
— Caster granting a card from a Deck of Healing

This ornate stack of 21 cards has an image of the Restomancy symbol on the back and a magical diagram drawn on the front.

A Deck of Healing is an incredible magical item that allows the Caster the ability to cast their Healing spells without requiring a physical lay on hands.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

A Deck of Healing allows a Caster to heal their allies at range. As long as the Caster is within 30 ft. of someone holding one of these cards and in line of sight, the Caster can channel their Healing magic through the card. After the spell has been cast, the card is destroyed. Any spell with "Healing" in its name can be used with this item. Only Healing spells cast by the owner of the deck can be channeled this way.

The last card in the deck heals double the HP it normally would. Any one person can carry a total of 5 cards to make a hand. A card can also be given to someone with the magic already imbued; the imbuement lasts for 10 minutes + the owner's Grace Modifier and can be activated at any time. Imbuing the card in this way takes 1 Full Action.

Manufacturing process

The artisan paints the symbol for Restomancy (or a personal symbol of significance) on the back of the card to represent the desired effects. The process to create a Deck of Healing takes 6-8 hours. Successful Item Craft results above the DC by multiples of 5 decreases the hours to craft and enchant the deck.

ITEM CRAFT: DC 11

History

Deck of Healing was created by combat medics as a way to provide emergency Healing magic when seperated from their troupes. Soldiers would often carry a hand of these cards around a loop tied to their belt.
