June's house

As June steps into the small house that she had called home for her whole life, she looks around, seeing it as if for the first time. How ironic, especially as this may be the last time that she will see it. The wooden, one-story dwelling consists of three bedrooms, although one of them - hers - isn't really big enough to be called a room. Her thin mattress takes up the floor. The walls are lined with shelves of various sizes that her father had constructed for her.
The house also contains a small kitchen and sitting room. They form one room, the biggest in the house. Together they hold one table with room for six people. However, only four chairs are around it. The one chair is by the front door, outside, on the small strip of wood that her father likes to call the veranda. The other chair is the proud holder of her mother's one fancy dress, a long pink thing that should "never be creased", in her mother's words. The chair stands next to the "master mattress" that her parents have had for their whole marriage, a sum of about 33 years.
This house has never been grand, but June sees it as the most beautiful building in all of Arburg. It holds countless memories of laughter and tears, and she was cherished for most of her life in this house. Her father built it with his bare hands back when she was too little to remember it, and it has always been a great source of pride for the Charles family.
During the worst rains of the year, in the season of Swell (see Seasons), June remembers cowering in the corner of the sitting room, watching as the drops dripped from the ceiling into all the pots, pans and other containers that her family owned, scattered over the floor in a random pattern that had always reminded her of the flowers dotted around the Meadow in spring. A leaking roof is never anything new in the town of Lochines, although every Ariya, after the coronation bonus that every employee receives from the, the women of Lochines always have a laugh as their husbands, sons and brothers set to work trying to plug all the holes of the houses, knowing very well that, come Esmae, the roofs would be about as waterproof as a mosquito net.

Purpose / Function

June Charles and her family live in this house, since Paul Charles built it for their family.

Architecture

It is a very basic, practical style. Although the roof isn't too practically built.
