Gilded

To become a member of the The Gilded one must become Gilded. The process for which starts with the removal of one's own heart replacing it with a Clockwork Heart of their own design.
Through this process the person is forever changed and must rely on a steam engine, boiler and or compressed steam energy in order to stay alive. Most who become gilded though rarely stop at just their heart and will often acquire more upgrades as the years begin to add up either changing out organic components that wear down or replacing limbs that do not function as well as mechanical variations. In the most extreme of cases brains are transplanted into great machines that continue to operate and provide the user with a far more powerful frame than biology would ever allow for.
The Gilded themselves do not have the medical expertise necessary to perform these operations and instead rely on a small company the Clock Docs to do all of the operations.
