Scope
The motivation behind building Araviad
This world is a collaborative effort between my players and myself to make a fully immersive player experience where together we develop the history, dieties, and way that the world is going to work with and against us. It is meant to motivate my adventurers to want to make a difference in the world and to invest them in the experience. Every step is a building experience.
The goal of the project
A comprehensive story and guide that shows my worlds full history, how the events of my adventurers affect the way that the world moves for better or for worse, and to help me become a more well rounded DM.
Araviad's Unique Selling point
Everything happening in this world was put in motion by my players. We used world building games to come up with many different story themes including wealth inequality, community, perserverance, and racism as a commentary on the things that are important to my players.
Theme
Genre
This is a world that relies primarily on medieval technologies but has certian artificers who are able to restore relics of technology from a past golden age. These technologies rely mostly on typoes of arcane magic that are volatile and difficult to work with but give many advantages if able to be repaired.
Reader Experience
The world should be balanced. From dieties and intent of those within the world there should be just as much light and hope as there is darkness and terror. It is up to my players to decide which side the world falls to
Reader Tone
This is a world that is darker than some but has aspects of light. Usually wonder is saved for those who earn it and terror is reserved for those who seek it, but with the magic unbalanced as it is, and dieties dormant and quiet, these themes are being broken

Balancing forces of nature are required to keep the world at peace.
Magic must be used as intended of consequences are dire
Live to honor agreements made
Character Agency
This world will respond to the characters decisions with great care. The changes will be realistic for the scales of the feats. If a small action is taken a small change will be noted, like if you feed a child, you will be regarded in te community with kindness. Large actions will have larger consequences. If you kill a guard you will no longer be welcome in a city.... if you kill many people you will be hunted, etc.
