It's going to be a leisurely stroll along the river he said" the dwarf muttered to himself as he searched for the boat that would take him to his destination, his bushy beard bobbing up and down as he walked along the rivers shore. He was short and stout, with a barrel chest and thick arms, and his sturdy boots left deep imprints in the sand as he trudged along.
"You just have to look for the fishing boat, that's all you gotta do, he said" he said aloud, his voice gruff.
But as he walked, he couldn't help but notice the mosquitoes that were swarming around him. They were everywhere, buzzing and biting, and their high-pitched whine was starting to get on his nerves. The dwarf swatted at them angrily, but it was no use. They were just to many of them, a growing cloud of buzzing, annoying pests.
"What that damn halfling didn't mention was those damn mosquitoes!" he cursed loudly to himself, swatting at a bug that had landed on his cheek. His fierce blue eyes narrowed as he glared at the tiny creatures. "They're going to kill me, one drop of blood at a time! I swear, those things could pierce chainmail!"
He was determined to reach his destination in time, but he couldn't help but think that the halfling who had given him directions had been playing a cruel joke on him. The rambling dwarf trudged on, cursing the mosquitoes with every step, his voice vanishing in the soundscape of the gentle flowing river.
The river mosquito, also known as floodwater mosquito, is a small, brown insect with a slender body and long legs. It is a common sight near rivers and streams, where it breeds in the stagnant water. River mosquitoes are attracted to humans and other animals, and their bites can be painful and itchy.
While river mosquitoes are not known to carry any diseases, their bites can still be very annoying. They can also be difficult to swat, as they are very small and quick.
Appearance
River mosquitoes are typically small, about 1/8 inch long. They have long, slender bodies with six legs and two wings. Their bodies are usually brown or gray, and their wings are transparent. River mosquitoes have a long proboscis, which they use to pierce the skin and suck blood.
Behavior
River mosquitoes are most active during the day, and they are especially active at dawn and dusk. They are attracted to humans and other animals, and they will bite any exposed skin. River mosquito bites are usually red and itchy, and they can last for several days.
Reproduction
River mosquitoes breed in stagnant water, such as ponds, swamps, and marshes. They lay their eggs on the surface of the water, and the eggs hatch into larvae. The larvae live in the water for several weeks, and then they pupate. After a few days, the pupae emerge as adult mosquitoes.
Habitat
River mosquitoes are found near rivers and streams all over Aran'sha.
