Edwin was born of the Atwood noble household. With aspirations of becoming admiral, Edwin rose through the ranks quickly. He did finally achieve the rank, but not before the new rank of high admiral was introduced with the launching of the second fleet. He received the honour of being the new admiral in charge of the 2nd Skyfleet, but the honour of being the first High Admiral was given instead to the less successful High Admiral Drew Joseph Bronze. A fierce competition for battlehonours has been going on ever since. With the 1st Skyfleet's assignment to Steamworth, Drew started to pull ahead of Edwin rapidly.
