Somara

Somara is rightly thought of as the founder and first Queen of Aranthelle. The true founding of Aranthelle as a nation came several generations after her death repelling the invasion of the @Shuiyaryn Empire. The formal founding of @[Ar began with her descendants, first beginning with her eldest daughter @[Faelynn] as the first Queen of Amisra. As the city and Queens' influence grew so did the kingdom, with many of the surrounding towns, villages, and small farming communities flocking to the strong line of Queens.
Somara's story, more of a legend at present times, began with her capture and enslavement under the invading empire. It is widely accepted that Somara was a small farm girl but quite skilled at hunting and tracking. It isn't known exactly where Somara was from, that has been lost to time but it is believed she was taken prisoner several years into the invasion by the Empire. When the Empire first landed their intent was quite clear within a few months, however, this did not hinder their expansion. When the Empire came most of the Eastlands were still small communities or tribes. Any resistance was easily crushed at the beginning, including the village where Somara lived. Many tried to escape the encroaching army but eventually would be left with nowhere to run.
Somara was held prisoner and made a slave for several years during the Empire's walk across the continent, but the determination and patience that Somara learned in the fields and forests from tracking and hunting gave her a focus to endure, wait, and listen. Eventually, she managed to slip free her bonds and make her escape into the mountains.

Self-sacrifice in battle, she prayed to The Everlight looking for hope when all seemed lost. Somara gave her life for the Everlights' intervention in the last battle of the her rebellion against the Empire.
