He is an Aetherian throwback, his only sign is that he lacks telepathy, and can't accept the link to the AIs---his body rejects any of their implants.

Teyri's connection to other dimensions allowed him to envision the concept of Zero Point Energy, and build devices based on this theory. The generator he created allows for a smaller power source for various-sized ships.
