Stonefist's Background

This is the background that I rolled from Central Casting Legends of Fantasy.   age: adolescent race: orc  heritage: natives of Teranik, were overthrown and uprooted by invaders, then forced to flee to the East. cultural background: barbaric (Native American tribal society) social status: comfortable family: both parents father's vocation: warrior, chieftain's guard, secondary freeman armorsmith
  • noted for his appearance, distinctive body odor, unusually muscular, well-defined; impressive-looking looks like he could be a hero.
mother: younger sister of the chieftain, vocation: weaver siblings: older brother, younger brother, younger sister status in the family: credit, dutiful other relations: 1st cousin, aunt's daughter physical traits: self-sufficient items of note: 
  • looks older than he is
  • looks like a humanoid badger, has short hair all over his body
  • unusually muscular, massive build
  • dresses simply: wears plain, unadorned clothes
  childhood
  • learned to use an orc double axe while training to be a barbarian
  • became proficient in the sport of lacrosse
  • visible injury: suffered a serious wound while saving the chief during an attack. The wound's effects are still apparent. An impressive scar on his right side, and a scar on his right hand that almost caused him to lose his thumb. Luckily the healer was very skilled, although it took months to heal.
  • befriends a dire badger named Blaze.
adolescence
  • while he is healing from the battle, Grom, the Orcish god of battle asks the Stone to become his agent on earth, and he accepts. Grom gives him an unusual rat as a gift. She has many abilities including invisibility, provides 2d4 gp per day, can change into a dire rat (boar size) 1/day for 1d6 hours, has wings, regenerates, and is telepathic.
  • apprenticed to a clan blacksmith/armorsmith. Over the years of his apprenticeship, he earned 3 ranks of blacksmith and 2 of armorsmith. While traveling with his master to the courts of distant nobles, he acquired a companion (their guide to the court). The stranger feels a need to protect Stonefist. He is a loyal friend who will lay down his life for the character. He will support the character in all he does.745 is a retired adventurer. Tell useful and fascinating stories. 
Military conscripted into the medium infantry yr 1 ranger: wilderness masters who can operate behind enemy lines. gains +1 rank to survival skill for every two years of service plus Knowledge (nature) 4 ranks gain weapon skills 2-handed spear; two-handed axe and sword; axe and javelin, spear and sword. armor: medium shield; scale mail; chain mail, ring mail; studded leather; hardened leather. monster encounters 1, Undead: skeleton handle animal (horse) R1 camouflage: stealth R2 sees action but nothing noteworthy. Stonefist performed a successful heroic mission that did real damage to the enemy’s ability to wage war. because of this, the conflict ends in 6 months, and innumerable lives are saved. the battle ended in a tie and both had to leave the battle and limped home. yr 2 monster encounter: imp heal r2 Endurance exercising. +2 Con, gain great fortitude feat Stonefist’s best friend dies at his side. the horror of it all causes the character to develop an exotic personality trait: berserker rage, lasting 83 minutes (%). D yr 3 monster encounter: wyrmling drake repairing armor, rank +2 serious casualties. the character was injured and has an impressive scar to show for it. the scar runs from his forehead across and below his right eye (the eye is fine) an act of the character reverses the battle’s outcome, they win. he is recognized for it and is promoted to Corporal. yr 4 the carnage was horrible. 14% of his side was killed. Stonefist received a grave injury and almost died. He was mustered out because of his injury. liver damage. Constitution halved for protecting against poison damage. alcohol is now a poison, see blessing it negates this injury. Rank: Corporal, 4 years, 212 gp mustering out benefits
