Snowstorm

A snowstorm is an event that only occurs at low temperatures, such as snow or sleet, or a rainstorm where ground temperatures are low enough for ice to form. This usually only occurs in the winter season but can occur at any time when the conditions are right.

It is considered a storm when large amounts of snow fall. Two inches or more. When strong winds happen at the same time, then it is called a blizzard.

Falling snow reduces visibility similar to rain. It frequently slows or halts travel and makes it virtually impossible to travel from place to place.
