A light chariot is a small cart, driven by a charioteer, usually using horses. Depending on the size of the cart, various animals can be used--horses, ponies, steers, reindeer, goats, etc. They can be made of various materials, some of the earliest chariots were made of basketry or leather.
They are fast, light, open, and have two wheels, one or two horses (side by side) can pull the chariot. It is only a floor with a waist-high wall on three sides. Besides being used for war, it is often used for travel, for games, and races. Because of terrain, they are only able to be used on roads or plains.
