Magrails

Magnetic Rails or "Magrails" are complex system of electromagnets installed within equipment, EVA suits, and spacecraft which will allow technicians and occupants to easily maneuver objects through space in zero gravity.

Magnetic Rails were initially developed as a means to improve docking as more complex systems of rotational artificial gravity were developed. The initial design would lock a docking vessel in a magnetic field so it could easily match the rotation of the parent vessel.

The technology was later broadened to be included in EVA suits, tools, equipment, and even weaponry, giving users maneuverability and a higher degree of control over their surroundings and their gear.
