Eight months ago, an Andromekhané ambassador secretly boarded the colonial cruiser Hippogryph to aid in a mission to rescue the stranded research vessel Archimedes. During the course of this mission, the Hippogryph vanished without a trace. As tensions now rise between man and machine, a deific threat has crept from beyond time and space, known only by the name written in a madman's journal - Apeiron.
