The Dream Eater
The Dream Eater is a good-aligned Mind Flayer, native to The City of Spires. He is most notable for his role as the founder of The Red Tentacle, one of the most respected Warrior Guilds of Apa Axas.
While The Dream Eater is the founder of a Warrior Guild, he is in actuality, quite feeble. This is due to his origin, as he is not a true Illithid. Instead, the Dream Eater was once a High Elven noble, although his name has been lost to time. What is known is that he was a worshipper of Drelux who took a more analytical approach to his worship, learning how to use his dreams to gain psionic abilities. This excess of psychic energy drew the attention of the Illithid, who promptly abducted The Dream Eater, and subjected him to ceremorphosis. However, The Dream Eater's psionic abilities had grown so powerful, that his mind had replicated itself and stored it within Drelux's realm of Sombre. Upon the elf who would The Dream Eater's death, his mind flushed back into him, overwhelming the Mind Flayer Tadpole and granting the Mind Flayer his own mind once more. The Dream Eater promptly escaped his bondage, and fled to his old manor. He quickly set up his own guild of adventurers to act as his bodyguards, as well as uncover a method to reverse his condition.
